History

Laura Sweeney has been blogging and writing professionally for more than a decade. She has also created visual arts in various forms for thirty-nine years. She believes that many of her ideas for writing come directly from her visual arts experiences. With four MA degrees and an EdD (doctorate), she has a lot of studies to reinforce her ideas on paper.

Laura's favorite books by other authors include "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne and "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" by Elizabeth George Speare (1958). Her favorite comedy is, not surprisingly, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. Laura's favorite modern piece of paranormal fiction is "Bad Moon Rising" by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Of course, she is a fan of "The Harry Potter" series.

Vesta, Keeper of the Roman Hearth (Roman Visions)

Vera was finally at ease in her flat near the Pantheon. Sure, her father was too busy with his Roman family to make time for her, but at least she was going to study in Italy. Her eyes opened wide as she looked at the designs of the various deities. One in particular that she enjoyed most, Vesta, was the goddess of the hearth and the city of Rome. Vera's landlord assured her that there was nothing to worry about if she believed in Vesta. Would Vesta save the day, or was she an evil influence?
